My head in the clouds

If this is just the earth, what would heaven be like?

The burden of time

So much of our day to day stress results from the way we treat time.
  1. Not enough time in a day to do everything.
  2. Time is money, be efficient.
  3. Personal time, do not disturb.
  4. Get a house by age x , get married by age x , have babies by age x.
  5. Work real hard now and retire early, (i.e.) gain time for enjoyment in the future.
How are we supposed to wrestle with this time race?
Eternity is in our grasp through Christ.

Psalm 24:1-2

"The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters."

Time heals all wounds?

Matthew 5:23-24
"Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar.  First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift."

People always say "time heals, things will work out".
Does it really?
The passage above is often preached with a tone of judgement against hypocrisy; what I read is urgency.  Drop everything and reconcile first!  Time alone doesn't heal, all it does is allow a broken relationship to fade into the past.  The mind forgets but the heart doesn't.  Whenever my heart brings up unresolved conflict from long ago, I wish that I had handled things better and sooner.

Two ways that faith grows

(1)  Take a leap forward when God's call comes and trust that He will be there with you through thick & thin.  Faith comes when you take that leap.

(2)  Do nothing when God's call comes, He will engineer circumstances to grow faith in you.  Faith comes when you're pressed into a corner and have no other way but trust.

Faith from either of the above pleases God.  But if I get to choose, I'd pick (1).  This is called wisdom.
